If you need to make up hours due to illness ro change of circumstances during the course, it is strongly advised that make-up hours are done as soon as possible after they are missed. This allows students to cover the missed material prior to returning to the course. Please note that this is done in private review at the student’s expense at a cost of $75 per hour. Students have six months to make up any hours missed. If they exceed this timeline, the course is forfeited and the entire course must be retaken in order to receive certification.

Yes! Your self mastery hours can be completed under the supervision of any Certified Pilates Instructor.

The instructor being observed does not need to hold a VIVA Education qualification. We highly recommend viewing a wide range of instructors and also participating and observing classes at a studio that you would like to be employed at. This will give you a wide range of inspiration to draw on when curating your own signature instructing style.

Attendance at the course itself is compulsory for certification and does not contribute to your self mastery hours.

The self mastery hours are specifically designed so that you can apply knowledge gained while attending the course to help advance and perfect your instructing style. As such all self mastery hours must be completed post your attendance of the VIVA Education course.
